Clinical Overview & Approach
Hydrotherapy (also known as aquatic physiotherapy) combines the therapeutic warmth of water (33–35°C) with the buoyant properties of water to dramatically reduce gravitational load on painful joints and healing bones. Under the direct supervision of a qualified physiotherapist, patients who struggle with land-based exercises can perform pain-free movements, rebuild muscle strength, and restore balance.
Common Conditions & Symptoms We Assess
Our experienced physiotherapists provide comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment for:
- Severe Osteoarthritis (Knee, Hip, Spine)
- Post-Operative Orthopedic Surgery (Early Non-Weight-Bearing)
- Fibromyalgia & Chronic Widespread Pain
- Neurological Conditions & Spasticity (Stroke, MS, Parkinson's)
- Chronic Lower Back & Sciatic Nerve Pain
- Severe Deconditioning & Mobility Impairments
- Rheumatoid Arthritis & Ankylosing Spondylitis
Our Treatment & Recovery Process
We structure care around a progressive, patient-centered clinical pathway tailored to your physical recovery:
Pre-Pool Clinical Screening Assessment
We conduct a land-based screening to assess your cardiovascular health, skin integrity, mobility goals, and water comfort.
Buoyancy-Assisted Gentle Mobilization
Water buoyancy unweights your body by up to 90%, allowing tight joints and compressed spines to move freely without impact.
Water Resistance Strengthening & Core Stability
Using water turbulence and specialized hydrotherapy floats/paddles to gently strengthen muscles in 360 degrees.
Transition to Land-Based Independence
As your strength and confidence improve, we progressively bridge your aquatic gains back into land-based everyday mobility.
